With the news of the royal British wedding come flooding over the news, a bishop is suspended indefinitely for his bold and derogative series of comments he posted on Facebook.

Pete Broadbent is a suffragan bishop of the Church of England expressed that the marriage between Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding will be surrounded by “nauseating tosh” and that their royal marriage would only last seven years.

“We need a party in Calais for all good republicans who can’t stand the nauseating tosh that surrounds this event,” he wrote on Facebook.

His disparaging comments has angered the politicians and of his fellow clergymen, forcing him to apologize for his statements.

He has made his apology but it failed to conciliate the Right Reverend Richard Chartres, the bishop– his superior. Rev Chartress was “appalled” by Broadbent’s comments.

Rev Chartres said, “In common with most of the country I share the joy which the news of the engagement has brought…I have now had an opportunity to discuss with Bishop Peter how his comments came to be made and I have noted his unreserved apology. Nevertheless, I have asked him to withdraw from public ministry until further notice…I have been in touch with St James’ Palace to express my own dismay on behalf of the church.”

Broadbent was absent from the morning’s service at Westminster Abbey, marking the inauguration of the Church of England’s General Synod – a council convened to discuss ecclesiastical business.
